Post Care Instructions After Dysport Treatment From Green Relief Health
It is recommended that you try to exercise your treated muscles for the first 30 minutes after treatment. Practice frowning, raising your eyebrows or squinting. This helps Dysport work into your muscles. This will not impact your treatment negatively.
Do not rub or massage the treated areas for 4 hours after your treatment. Do not do strenuous exercise for 4 hours after treatment. Also avoid facials and saunas for 4 hours after your treatment. This will minimize the risk of raising your blood pressure and therefore minimize the risk of temporary bruising. Feel free to shower and go about most other regular daily activities.
You should not lie down for 4 hours after treatment. this is to avoid the risk of pressure on the treated areas (from your pillow) and to avoid the risk of having the area rubbed accidentally.
Results of your treatment can take up to 14 days to take full effect. Please wait until 14 days have passed to assess the results of your Dysport treatment.
How Will I Know That It’s Working?
The answer depends on the area that was treated. If you received treatment in your upper face, you may simply notice that you are not seeing the lines or wrinkles that were bothering you before. If your forehead was treated, you may experience a pulling or slight headache like feeling, which happens when the muscle is getting relaxed and you are involuntarily still trying to move it. This feeling may last for a few days and then completely resolves.
Is It Going To Be Worse When It Wears Off?
No. Your face will never get worse if you stop using Dysport or when it wears off. At the very minimum, you will simply return to where you started. If you use Dysport for several years and then stop, your muscles learn to relax and therefore, you will end up looking a little better than when you originally started.
When Should I Make My Next Treatment Appointment?
It is usually recommended to book your next treatment after your treatment session to ensure you stay on you stay on your treatment pathway. Dysport treatment sessions are typically every 3 to 4 months.
If you received treatment for your facial wrinkles, you should not wait for the muscles to fully start moving again. You should return for the next treatment session when about 75% of your muscle activity has returned. By continuing regular injections, the muscles tend to forget their function and stay rested, which can potentially prolong the effects of the Dysport treatment from 3-4 months to about 6-8 months, providing greater savings and more wrinkle free face time for you.
