Botox in Baltimore, MD
Botulinum toxin or BOTOX Baltimore is a medication that is injected into the muscles beneath the skin to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
There are several brands of botulinum toxin that have received FDA-approval for the treatment of fine lines and wrinkles, including Botox and Dysport.
Botulinum toxin is a safe, non-surgical alternative to other anti-aging treatments.
Each treatment session takes only a few minutes at our office. Our providers are experienced injectors and will help you achieve a natural and more youthful aesthetic outcome.
How does Botox in Baltimore work?
Botulinum toxin weakens the muscle into which it is injected. When a facial muscle normally contracts, such as when someone squints or frowns, it causes the skin above it to crease. A botulinum toxin-weakened muscle leaves the skin smoother and less prone to wrinkling. The lines that result from frequent muscle contractions gradually fade, and in some cases, disappear.
Common Botox Cosmetic Injection Treatments:
Crow’s Feet
Crow’s feet are one of the most prominent causes of an aged appearance. The little forked wrinkles highlight the aging skin and take the focus away from the natural beauty of your eyes. What is worse is that the wrinkles only deepen over time.
Thankfully, Botox can help eliminate crow’s feet by causing the small muscles around the eyes to relax.
Frown Lines
Frown lines, also known as the “elevens” are those wrinkles which appear between the brows on your forehead, not only give the skin an aged and tired look, but they can also make you look permanently sad and down, even when you don’t feel that way.
At Green Relief Health, we use Botox injections to reduce frown lines. Botox helps to weaken the muscle in the affected area by blocking the muscle from releasing chemicals which, otherwise, would cause the muscle to contract.
Botox has been given FDA approval in its effectiveness in treating frown lines.
Wrinkles
Wrinkles are the primary sign of aging because they are so strikingly pronounced on the face. Green Relief Health has its own assessment protocol to analyze a patient’s skin and provide the most effective course of treatment.
Botox is one of several treatments to reduce the visibility of wrinkles. Botox lessens the quantity and prominence of wrinkles by paralyzing and weakening muscles in the affected area which prevents them from contracting and pulling the skin.
Following treatment, you will start seeing results in about 3-7 days, with peak results in 10-14 days.
Patients may also consider Dysport, another injectable meant to improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

Post Care Instructions After Botox In Baltimore Treatment From Green Relief Health
It is recommended that you try to exercise your treated muscles for the first 30 minutes after treatment. Practice frowning, raising your eyebrows or squinting. This helps Botox work into your muscles. This will not impact your treatment negatively.
Do not rub or massage the treated areas for 4 hours after your treatment. Do not do strenuous exercise for 4 hours after treatment. Also avoid facials and saunas for 4 hours after your treatment. This will minimize the risk of raising your blood pressure and therefore minimize the risk of temporary bruising. Feel free to shower and go about most other regular daily activities.
You should not lie down for 4 hours after treatment. This is to avoid the risk of pressure on the treated areas (from your pillow) and to avoid the risk of having the area rubbed accidentally.
Results of your treatment can take up to 14 days to take full effect. Please wait until 14 days have passed to assess the results of your Botox treatment.
How Will I Know That It’s Working?
The answer depends on the area that was treated. If you received treatment in your upper face, you may simply notice that you are not seeing the lines or wrinkles that were bothering you before.
If your forehead was treated, you may experience a pulling or slight headache like feeling, which happens when the muscle is getting relaxed and you are involuntarily still trying to move it. This feeling may last for a few days and then completely resolves.
Is It Going To Be Worse When It Wears Off?
No. Your face will never get worse if you stop using Botox or when it wears off. At the very minimum, you will simply return to where you started. If you use Botox for several years and then stop, your muscles learn to relax and therefore, you will end up looking a little better than when you originally started.
When Should I Make My Next Treatment Appointment?
It is usually recommended to book your next treatment after your treatment session to ensure you stay on you stay on your treatment pathway. Botox treatment sessions are typically every 3 to 4 months.
How Will I Know When I Need To Return?
If you received treatment for your facial wrinkles, you should not wait for the muscles to fully start moving again. You should return for the next treatment session when about 75% of your muscle activity has returned. This will ensure that the muscle will still be in a relaxed state and has not regained the function we are trying to make it forget. By continuing regular injections, the muscles tend to forget their function and stay rested, which can potentially prolong the effects of the Botox treatment from 3-4 months to about 6-8 months, providing greater savings and more wrinkle free face time for you.
